このキャプションで、A report filed by the 27th Marines, 5th Marine Division, on September 24　を、「9月24日に撮影した」と早とちりすると、after the initial surrender to the Allies but before Allied troops arrived　と辻褄が合わなくなりますね。

なお、写真には広島湾の似島が写っているような気がしますので場所は特定できそうです。広島の人に確かめてもらうといいですね。
